AO Party on the Porch Kicks Off Matching Gift Campaign For Red Mountain Park

Friday, July 19th marks the beginning of a new chapter in the story of Alabama Outdoors. Our popular “Party on the Porch” series will kick off a matching gift campaign to support Red Mountain Park. AO will match, up to $25,000. Every dollar raised for Red Mountain Park to assist with building park infrastructure, maintain trails, and expand services.

The party at Alabama Outdoors – Homewood, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm this Friday, July 19th, will feature live music from the Stuart McNair Band, the Cantina truck will be available for dinner, and your $5 donation gets you a magic cup that never has to be empty of delicious and refreshing Good People beer. An additional $5 donation enters you into a 5K Fun Run through the beautiful Mayfair neighborhood in Homewood. Grab a post-run massage from Stephen Wade of Stephen Wade Massage Therapy. All money raised goes to Red Mountain Park.

The festivities include amazing special pricing on items from the AO Run Shop, as well as throughout the rest of the store.

Special prizes will be given away throughout the evening, including items from Alabama Outdoors, Red Mountain Park Zip Line tours, Hugh Kaul Beanstalk Forest tours, and much more.

Red Mountain Park

Red Mountain Park is an urban park in development, consisting of over 1,200 acres.  The Park is located down the West Lakeshore Parkway corridor with the Wenonah-Ishkooda neighborhood to its north.  Currently, Red Mountain Park is in its first phase of development which includes an extensive interconnected trail system for walking, running and mountain biking, a canopy tour zip line adventure and scenic overlook “Treehouse”, all surrounded by historic mining sites.

Donation: $5 for the keg cup, and $5 for the Fun Run (100% goes to red Mountain park)
